Child centered learning is the key note at Shemford Futuristic School, Pinjore. The motive has always been to induce interest in learning so that learning comes alive. As the annual examination is approaching, it is a great pleasure to see the young Shemstars so confident with mathematical calculations. This has been possible with the Abacus classes functioning along with the regular mathematics periods. With Abacus, children have learnt easy, quick and accurate methods of calculations. The parents remark, “It gives immense satisfaction to see our children comfortable in a subject like mathematics.” Our young Shemstar Angelica Piplani also exhibited her expertise on the National television, India’s Best Dramebaaz, and mesmerized the entire nation with her mathemagic expertise. The school aims to continue to adopt any possible approach both in scholastic and co scholastic areas to groom the children into confident SHEMSTARS.

SHEMFORD ORGANIZES INTER SCHOOL TOURNAMENTS
Continuing with the Kelo Shemstar initiative, Shemford Futuristic School, Pinjore organized Inter School Basketball and Cricket tournaments for girls and boys in the School Sports Complex. This was a three day tournament from January 28th to 30th. Many teams from the tricity participated with zeal and enthusiasm to exhibit their mettle. It was indeed a treat to behold the young children represent their individual schools with true team spirit.
In the basketball match for boys, students of Shemford Futuristic School, Pinjore took the lead against Vivek International School, Baddi, while in the girls’ match students of VIPS were the winners. The best player among the girls was Preeti and Palaksha Santoshi was declared as the upcoming player. Among the boys, Ramanjit Singh was the best scorer and Prince Puri the upcoming player in the game.
In the Cricket tournament, the final match was played between the students of Shemford Futuristic School, Pinjore and the students of Baddi Cricket Academy. Batting second, BCA won by four wickets in 18.5 overs. Sunny of BCA was declared Man of the Match, while Krish Sharma was the Best batsman of the tournament. Best bowler was Harshit Sareen and Ayush Verma the Best Wicketkeeper of the match. Manish Joshi of BCA was declared Man of the Series scoring 85 runs and taking 6 wickets.
There is no such thing as sportsmanship. Winning and losing is a part of any game. The motive of any tournament should be to shape sportsmen for the nation.
WINNERS LAUDED WITH PRINCIPAL’S TROPHY
At Shemford Futuristic School, Pinjore, it is firmly believed that kids prosper best with a broad curriculum that celebrates their various talents, and then nurtures and grooms them to bring out the best in an individual. At school immense opportunity is given to the children to participate in various Sports and co-curricular activities throughout the session. Various inter house competitions are also conducted every Saturday for which the students are assessed. The teachers and students of all the four houses, i.e. Shempride, Shemcourage, Shemvalour and Shemglory, put in a lot of effort in each and every competition so that they come out with flying colours. It is a fair play with a purpose to instil team spirit and sportsmanship among the children
The culmination of the activities/session is done by giving away the Principal’s trophy, the most coveted and prestigious award to the best house of the academic session. This year, it was Shempride that took away the trophy with a clean sweep. The school hall echoed with roars of joy when the winning team received the award from Principal, Ms. Amita Dhaka.
Amita ma’am in her address to the gathering congratulated all the students who had participated all the year round in various activities. She said that ‘the best part of competition is that through it we discover what we are capable of and how much more we can actually do than we ever knew’. She also encouraged the students to stay focused, go after their dreams and achieve their desired goals.
SHEMSTAR ANGELICA PIPLANI HONOURED BY STATE GOVERNOR
Scintillating Shemstar Angeica Piplani of Shemford Futuristic School, Pinjore was honoured by the State Governor Shri Satyadev Narayan Arya and DC Shri Mukul Kumar on Republic Day at Parade Ground, Panchkula. It was a moment of great pride and honour to see the young Shemstar receive the appreciation from the district administration.
Angelica Piplani was one of the finalist at India’s Best Dramebaaz, 2018 and won a cash prize of One Lakh rupees. The incandescent artiste dazzled the stage of this popular TV with great expertise. The versatility of this budding artist always mesmerized the audience. Angelica has always proved herself in all the fields, both scholastic and co- curricular. Her knack for acting was recognized in her early years when she was given a platform in school programs. It was from school that she alighted her flight to success. This young and aspiring Shemstar has also enacted in short films and documentaries.
Right from her auditions to the last act of the show, ‘Maths ki Mahagyani’ Angelica Piplani, was applauded by the judges to be a fine actor in both grave and comic roles. Throughout the season, she was acknowledged for her talents-acting and mathematics-by all the celebrities, who also tested her math magic skills personally.
The School Management, Principal, staff and all the Shemstars congratulated her. It is well said that it is only when children put their heart, mind and soul in their smallest actions that they become successful.
